Why Study Sports Coaching & Performance at NKC Dartford College? 

At NKC Dartford College, you'll develop the skills needed to coach, motivate and support athletes of all abilities while gaining a broad understanding of the sports industry.

Using our excellent sports facilities, including a large multi-purpose sports hall, three sports fields, a strength and conditioning suite, and a fully equipped fitness centre, you'll combine practical coaching sessions with classroom learning to develop your confidence and leadership skills.

You'll explore topics such as coaching techniques, sports performance, fitness, psychology and leadership, while working as part of a supportive team environment. Our courses are designed to prepare you for university, apprenticeships or employment within the sport and leisure industry.

Students also have the opportunity to join our Football Academy, representing the College in competitive fixtures while receiving regular coaching and performance training.

  • What is the NKC Football Academy?

    Students can join our Boys' or Girls' Football Academy, benefiting from three coaching sessions each week and competing in fixtures in the U18 Kent Schools' Football Association League and National Football Youth League. 

  • Will I get practical coaching experience?

    Yes. Practical coaching forms a key part of the course. You'll develop your leadership, communication and coaching skills through practical sessions, team activities and sport-specific projects. 

  • Is this course only for talented athletes?

    Not at all. While many of our students compete at district, county, national or international level, the course is open to anyone with a passion for sport, a willingness to learn and a desire to develop their coaching and leadership skills.
