At NKC Dartford College, we understand that every learner is different. If you have a learning difficulty, disability, or medical condition, we offer support to help you succeed and get the most out of college life.
Support may be available for a range of needs, including learning difficulties, autism, physical or sensory impairments, medical conditions, and social, emotional or mental health needs.
What support is available?
- Study assistance, in and outside of the classroom, from experienced and skilled learning support staff
- Exam access arrangements for individuals
- Meeting personal care needs
- Information, advice and guidance for career progression
- Deaf Services providing BSL/SSE Communication Support Workers for one-to-one curriculum and note-taking.
How do I access support?
You can tell us about any disability or learning support needs on your college application form. A member of the team will then contact you to discuss your requirements and put the right support in place.

Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP)
We welcome students that have an Education Health & Care Plan (EHCP) to apply to NKC Dartford College; however, a formal consultation by their home local authority must take place prior to admission in line with the legal requirements of the Children & Families Act 2014. The college will not be able to offer a place until the consultation process has taken place and all applications will be placed on hold until this process is completed.
Please note, acceptance at the college does not provide entitlement to a particular course and the entry requirements of each course continue to apply to all students.
